The Importance of Studying Solid Waste

Waste comes in many different forms. Agricultural waste, human waste, recyclable waste, toxic waste, food waste, the list seems endless. Giving thought to the amount of waste we individually produce as Americans should be striking to everyone. The average person produces 4.3 pounds of waste per day (Duke, 2016).

We should be asking ourselves: Is this necessary? Where does it all go? How does it affect others? How does it affect me?

Most importantly, is the issue the same around the world?
